June 2004 - The next-generation viewer, LAVIS's new functions have been announced

TOKYO, JAPAN, June 2, 2004 - TOOL Corporation has announced new functions for its next- generation layout viewer LAVIS, which is exhibited at the 41st Design Automation Conference (DAC) held in San Diego, U.S.A.

LAVIS has been well received both in Japan and overseas.The followings are some of the new functions added to LAVIS that will be introduced at DAC prior to its release in Japan.

Support for OASIS format

We have been working on supporting the next-generation standard format OASIS and finally finished developing its alpha-version at the end of May. We are demonstrating it using the actual data at DAC.

Support for LEF/DEF format

LEF/DEF format has already been supported by LAVIS and in addition to the LEF/DEF data display, the search based on net, component and instance can now be performed. This helps improve work efficiency in various design phases such as floor planning and timing error analysis, etc.

Support for Linux64bit environment (AMD64)

The rapidly expanding Linux64bit environment (AMD64) has been supported enabling much larger data to be handled in a high-performance environment.
